SAR Steel Sleeper Coach (1st Class, Type 2, Side B)
Description:
This first class coach has squared roof peak ends and a closed vestibule at each end. This one was restored for use by The Union Limited, a luxury passenger train. Side B is the passage side and its interior layout is, from the right, eleven two-bed coupes and a toilet.
SAR Type C-33, Built 1951, Length over headstocks 63' 5", Height 12' 5 13/16", Width 9' 3 3/16", To seat 33, To sleep 22. (According to the official drawings coach 8202 is an SAR Type C-25, but the C-25 coach has peaked roof ends, five compartments and three coupes.)
